Himalayan Bull Tahr

Tahr – Himalayan Bull Tahr (Hemitragus Jemlahicus)
These magnificent goat like animals are native to the central Himalayan Ranges of
Nepal and India. They were introduced into New Zealand in the Mt Cook area in 1904
for recreational hunters and now roam freely around the mountain tops of the Southern
Alps.
Hunts are generally done by helicopter for easy access high up in the mountains.
