About Us
Armstrong family
Glenora, now known as Ora, has a rich history dating back to when it was first purchased by Francis Armstrong in 1876. Since then, it has been passed down through generations, maintaining its legacy within the Armstrong family. Currently, Glenora is managed by the dedicated duo of Hamish and Pamela Armstrong, along with Tim and Frecks Armstrong and their three children, Michaela, Hamish, and Thomas. This family has continued to uphold the station's heritage, adapting to changes and diversifying their operations to ensure its sustainability and success. Their innovative approach led to the creation of a New Zealand hunting safari park, marking a significant pivot in their farming and land management practices.

The Land
Originally spanning 90,000 acres as an outstation of Akitio Station, Glenora has witnessed significant changes over the years. Now covering 6,700 acres, it remains an iconic piece of the Wairarapa region in the North Island of New Zealand, albeit smaller than its original expanse. The land's transformation includes the development of the Franklin Block, a 900-acre section renowned for New Zealand Deer Hunting. Thanks to its bushy terrain and natural environment, the Franklin Block is an ideal habitat for wild red deer, fallow, and Arapawa Rams. Fully ring-fenced, this Glenora area is a haven for wildlife and a cherished spot for hunting enthusiasts. Many clients are drawn to Glenora Hunting Adventures year after year, and some even visit twice a year, captivated by the freedom, humor, relaxation, enjoyment, and tranquility offered by the land and its stewards.
